About Adam and Precise PC

After more than 10 years of being the "computer guy" and fixing every possible problem on the PCs of friends and family, I realized it was time to take what I can do and turn it into what I do.

I am a very motivated individual. My goal for every job I do is to get the job done right in an expedient manner. My customers are important to me and I do my best to make the experience as easy on them as it is on their checkbook.

•How I got started in Computers

I was born in Pittsfield, Massachusetts in 1979. Ever since childhood, I've had an innate ability to understand technical devices and concepts. My journey with PCs officially started in the early 90's when my family bought its first computer, a Tandy 1000. A whole new universe to explore opened before my eyes. It started slowly — let me see what happens when I do this... now how do I get that back the way it was?

With the mid 90's came faster computers (well, they were back then) and the technology that would exponentially expand my understanding of computers: The Internet. Now I had the answers to all of my questions right at my fingertips. Not only that, but the internet ushered in a whole new generation of problems — and solutions. Getting Trumpet Winsock to work with an external modem in Windows 3.1 was just as difficult as it sounds.

High School built the fundamentals that I could easily take for granted. Who knows how far I could get if I still typed with only two fingers? A class in the outdated (even back then) BASIC programming language helped me to understand computers on a different level. Thanks to a great art teacher, I was exposed to the name "Adobe" and the art of digital design (thus begins my Precise Design history), and on a Mac no less!

In the year 2000, I built my first computer. The idea came as a wish at first, but after a little research, I realized it was a very doable proposition. Just order the pieces separately and then viola! - put them together. I was in computer geek heaven. Since then I have built more than 15 computers from the ground up and have done countless more hardware upgrades and repairs.

Nowadays, keeping up on technology and trends can be a full time job in itself. I'm always excited to hear about the new "next best thing" and can't wait until I get to try it out for myself. I've seen the world of the personal computer evolve — the internet from dial-up to broadband, PCs from "wow, it has a CD-ROM drive?!" to "it burns DVDs, but not HD-DVDs?", monitors from beige boxes to black pieces of desk art — and I know one thing for sure. I love my job.
